Basandja explores the methods used by local Congolese communities to establish self-sufficiency, preserve their ancestral land, and maintain sustainable village life while continuing to protect the rain forest even while they are confronted by the violence of cobalt and other mineral mining.
POWERLANDS (2022): Directed by Ivey-Camille Manybeads Tso & produced by Jordan Flaherty
A young Navajo filmmaker investigates displacement of Indigenous people and devastation of the environment caused by the same chemical companies that have exploited the land where she was born. On this personal and political journey she learns from Indigenous activists across three continents.
