Film Screening and Discussion of Gaza Fights for Freedom

Thursday, November 14th, 4:30-6:30pm

Coppola Theater

Fine Arts Buildling, Rm. 101

"Gaza Fights for Freedom," a 74 min. documentary film by Abby Martin, tells the story of Gaza past and present, showing rare archival footage and infographics that explains a complex history never acknowledged by mass media. The film relays first-hand accounts of victims of the ongoing massacre, including journalists, medics and the family of the internationally-acclaimed paramedic and humanitarian, Razan al-Najjar.

Following the film will be a panel discussion with Dr. Omar Zahzah (RRS; AMED), Dr. Mayuran Tiruchelvam (Cinema), and student activists from the General Union of Palestine Students (GUPS) and Students4Gaza.

Sponsored by the Department of Race and Resistance Studies and the Marcus Endowed Chair, School of Cinema at SFSU.
